The line dead tone is coming

The PSTN landline network switches off 31st January ’27.

All emergency lift phones still running on a fixed BT line will go silent without a digital alternative in place. Openreach has already started migrating exchanges region by region, so the compliance risk is real now.

Why LiftPulse

LiftPulse is a reliable bridge from PSTN lines to digital lift communications.

When LiftPulse goes in, the BT line from the lift moves over. No downtime. No disruption. Nothing in the lift needs to change. Take complete control of lift phone emergency communications with real-time insight into test call compliance, lift line status, mains power, battery level and network signal from a single cloud dashboard, wherever you are.

Brand agnostic

Fits any lift, any maintainer. Only the BT line changes.

No downtime

LiftPulse Hardware

The Connectivity

Global multi-network roaming SIM that automatically locks onto the strongest signal, so no single operator is a point of failure.

The Cloud Dashboard

24/7 real-time visibility: heartbeat status, mains power loss and restore, battery level, and compliance audit export.

EN 81-28 Compliant · Plug&Play PSTN Alternative · 4G VoLTE Digital Line

Up to 4 hours on standby, and around an hour of live talk time. EN 81-28 expects the alarm to remain operable for at least an hour after mains failure, so the standby figure gives you four times the margin the standard asks for.

Common questions

Common questions

Our line still works and nobody has contacted us. Why act now?

Because you can no longer order a new analogue line or move an existing one: Openreach’s stop-sell has been nationwide since 2023. Any refurbishment, new lift, line fault or relocation strands you on the day it happens. Exchanges also migrate region by region well ahead of the final date, not on it. The lifts that get caught out are the ones waiting for a letter.

There’s no mobile signal in our lift shaft or basement.

The most common worry, and the easiest one to settle. Every unit ships with a high-gain external antenna built for deep shafts and basements, and a multi-network roaming SIM that locks onto whichever operator is strongest rather than being tied to one. If you’re unsure, run the 30-day trial on your most difficult lift. That is exactly what it is for, and if the signal isn’t there the unit goes back and the £295+VAT deposit is refunded in full.

How would we know if the unit itself had failed?

You wouldn’t have to notice. Each unit sends a regular heartbeat and places an automated test call every three days, and the dashboard flags a missed heartbeat, a mains power loss or battery degradation as it happens. A dead line reaches you as an alert, not as a trapped passenger.

What do we need to do to try it on one lift?

Submit the form below to start. A solutions engineer will contact you to discuss the order process, the plug-and-play kit is delivered to replace the BT line on your chosen lift, and the 30-day trial begins.
